Abstract

Objective: Art (especially in the field of painting) because of the very different nature has the different citation behavior compare to other fields. The main objective of this study was to identify the differences between citation and cited references in the Art, particularly in the field of painting. Method: In this study, we used mixed method. For quantitative section, survey methods, survey in literatures and quantitative content analysis is used and for the qualitative section, it was used qualitative content analys, interview and library method. The study population consisted of faculty members painting art universities in Tehran who have been published scientific production during the years 1384-1394. The resumes of the individuals and the related texts and electronic resources are another part of population. To analyze the data SPSS software is used. Findings: The most important document for citing are Persian books, English books, Persian articles and websites. Results: The results indicate that official citations in the field of art (painting) are not common but citations are hidden and concealed. Also different in terms of the type of information resources, information resources life, how to use the information sources cited and the use of hidden citations in this area is very different from other areas. Also there was a significant differences among the comments of individuals targeted, what is seen in ré sumé .
