The Impact of the Business Environment on Entrepreneurship Development and Economic Growth in Developing Countries

Abstract

 Considering the significance of improving Business environment and the role of entrepreneurship for economic development, this study aims to investigate the effect of Business environment on developing entrepreneurship and economy in developing countries. Therefore, the Simultaneous Equation Model and panel data are used for the data from 2010 to 2015 taken from 20 developing countries, so that the effect of Business environment on developing entrepreneurship and economy could be investigated. The findings indicate that the index of business regulations has an indirect significant effect on economic development, while the index of entrepreneurship, foreign direct investment, labor, and gross fixed capital formation has a direct significant effect on economic development. In addition, the index of business regulations, government’ s expenditures in education, and economic growth rate have a direct significant effect on the entrepreneurship of the developing countries. As a result, the findings from these international data regarding developing countries show that there has to be a developing strategic plan for improving institutional and legal environment indexes for the sake of improving Business environment. To develop entrepreneurship, modifying educational curriculum at the general and professional level should be taken into consideration, training creative entrepreneurs for establishing appropriate businesses.
