Abstract

 The present article is the result of an attempt to review and evaluate "E’Djaz-al-Quran" (miraculous character of the QURAN) by Bāghlāni. This book enjoys a prestigious position in the Islamic world, to the extent that no other, book could rival it for a long period of time and consequently it was the only undisputable source on the miraculous character of the QURAN. This book which covers a wide variety of subjects on the QURANic sciences is an indication of its authors vast and far reaching knowledge. In order, to verify the UNIQUENESS of the QURAN, the author, has criticized the POETRY of great Arab poets and in so doing he has also enumerated different aspects of ELOQUENCE and excellence of inimitability of the QURAN; The present article in offering a critique of the book at hand, also makes reference to instances of plagiarism found in it.
