Abstract

 No doubt, in my opinion making unity is an impossible action or deed, but the taqarub (that is, getting together for rapprochement) is possible. But, l believe that, if you mean by the Islamic unity the taqarub between the Islamic schools of thought, this taqarub is certainly possible and commendable. And the Muslims all over the Islamic world have formed organizations for this taqarub such as the Organization of the Islamic World and "Majma‘ut-Taqrib baina Al-Madhahib Al-’Islamiyyah" (The World Assembly of the Proximity among the Islamic Schools of Thought). These organizations until today are working successfully. That is to say, they have not committed big mistakes, and the Islamic world till now does not suffer from conflicting or clashing between its groups or states. But anyhow, it suffers from terrorism which is working in the name of Islam. In actual fact, terrorism is corroding and eating into the Islamic body in the name of severe strictness.
