Abstract

The purpose of this research is study relationship between RELIGIOSITY and SCIENTIFIC ORIENTATION and activity among PHD STUDENTS of Shiraz University. All PHD STUDENTS are universe of this research which included 642 people and didn’t use any sampling methods in this investigation and only 449 people possible to achieve. The method of this study is survey and the tool of gathering data is questionnaire. Merton’s theory about interaction between science and religion is used in this research. In general the most important descriptive results show that more than sixty percent of responders have middle RELIGIOSITY. Finally, there is a negative relation between RELIGIOSITY and SCIENTIFIC ORIENTATION among all respondents. However, this relationship is positive for SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY. It declares different students orientation about science and religion in subjective and objective area.
