Abstract

Political PARTICIPATION is one of the most significant aspects of globalization, especially when considered in its democratic context. WOMENs right to participate is an essential element of democratic government, inseparable from such other attributes of democracy as consent, accountability, majority rule, equality, and popular sovereignty. A broader view of democratic governance holds that every individual (Male/Female) should be interested in governance to make the government function effectively. The present research focuses on the nature of political PARTICIPATION of WOMEN residing in the city of Bandar Abbas. A sample of 218 respondents was selected and interview was the main technique used for data collection. The results clearly show that WOMEN respondents were inclined toward participating in POLITICS and that the relationships among the WOMENs political PARTICIPATION and their EDUCATION, OCCUPATION and SOCIAL CLASS were statistically significant
