Abstract

Khazaks have been a nomad ethnic group who continued their nomadism few years after 1917 Revolution of former USSR Russia. Their economic, social and political situations were changed after the revolution. Some of them immigrated to the neighboring countries including Iran based on cultural and religious disasters as well as natural tragedies such as hunger and economic problems. The Iranian Khazaks are mainly living In Gonbad Kabous, Gorgan and Bandar Turkman. They are strictly endogamous and often-get married among themselves.This paper tries to study their male and female (bridal party's clothing. Marriage as a rite of passage is a way from one to the another base for getting special goal in a shared lift as a lingual or by move and framework situation of very symbolic based on the belief to power of organisms or sacred powers. In this situation, using new clothing and jollity as the symbols of the rites of passage, performs a special role. Herby, we introduce different parts of clothing of males and females and study their roles in the three stages of pre-liminal, passage and post-liminal. Besides, we study the changes and evolution of Khazak clothing during their settlement in Iran and their effective factors.
