Abstract

Goul of the present research is studying the effects of comparative FAMILY PROBLEM SOLVING and life style change on decrease of marital maladjustment. A total of 260ed couples have were selected and ranfomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Intervention methods of FAMILY PROBLEM SOLVING and life style change. In each group one method of intervention was applied for 15 hours, in 11 session. Instruments used were the ENRECH MARITAL SATISFACTION scale, problem-solving questionnaire, and life style cheek list. The data were analyzed by ANOVA test and HSD test.Outcomes of the research showed that each of two intervention methods decrease marital maladjustment. FAMILY PROBLEM SOLVING method caused decrease of marital maladjustment in following dimensions: Marital communication, conflict resolution, sexual relation, personality issues, and relationship with original family and friends. Life style change method decrease marital maladjustment, as well as personal issues, financial management, conflict resolution and sexual relation.Based on the results, counselors and psychotherapists are vecommended to select their intervention method considering the kind of maladjustment dimensions in helping couples with maladjustment.
