Abstract

Let F be a non-Archimedean locally compact eld. Let s and t be nite-dimensional representations of the Weil-Deligne group of F. We give strong upper and lower bounds for the Artin and Swan ex-ponents of s Ä t in terms of those of s and t. We give a different lower bound in terms of s Ä s and t Ä t Using the Langlands correspondence, we obtain the bounds for Rankin-Selberg exponents.
