Abstract

1, 5 - Diphenylcarbazone was used as an excellent carrier for the efficient and specific transport of Cu (II) ions through a liquid membrane composed of chloroform. At the optimum pH of 7.0, more than 99% of total copper was transported over a period of two hours. The selectivity and efficiency of copper transport from aqueous solution containing mixtures of several different cations was investigated.
