Abstract

The SADRADDIN SHIRAZI ideas in philosophy are considered one of the most va-luable pearls in the treasury of the Muslim thought. Having essentially enriched an according sphere of the philosophical knowledge he belongs to those philosophers who definitely occupied a place of their own in its history. His true devotion to phi-losophy resulted in establishing the School of Philosophy. The notions of REASON and BELIEF which are thought to be the fundamental problems in S. Shirazi’ s philosophy are analyzed in the article. It was revealed a sp-here of their coverage and correlation as well. The present research is aimed at dis-covering the Truth which is able to become a base for the new philosophy trend. The study was based on the aspects of comparison, correlation as well as the philosophi-cal views by Shirazi on the problems of REASON and BELIEF. These two matters have been interrelated to each other through the history. As a result of comparative stu-dies it was cleared up that despite of the obvious difference between these two cate-gories they have turned out to be two sides of the same Truth. The new philosophi-cal theories by S. Shirazi are considered in the article from the points of three basic traditional approaches towards BELIEF and REASON – namely affirmation, negation and non-affirmation and non-negation. An attention was also paid to S. Shirazi’ s subjective theory concerning different degrees of the REASON ability in correlation between REASON and BELIEF. That’ s why REASON and BELIEF are affirmed as two sour-ces of cognition. The main difference between them is that one of them is intended for everybody while the other one is intended for the individuals.
