Abstract

DUMPING is considered one of unfair trade and competition intruder methods based on World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. In this phenomenon, domestic firms supply their own products in foreign markets with prices less than marginal cost of production; and apply price discrimination between domestic and foreign markets.In this paper, regarding the injury of voluminous supply of Chinese products to IRAN’s industry and production in recent years, the major imported items in charge of DUMPING which originate from CHINA including textiles (cloths), porcelain, footwear, steel products (bar and hot- rolled sheet), sound and visual accessories (TV sets), other home appliances (refrigerator and vacuum cleaner), writing accessories (pencil), paper, neopan, plywood, fiberboard and M.D.F have been studied in terms of 6-digit codes of harmonized system (HS).In order to calculate DUMPING margin, the best information available (BIA) method with comparison of the normal value and export price has been used on the basis of PC-TAS statistical data over the 1999-2003 period. The research results indicate a DUMPING margin more than 25 percent in most considered products. Also, this claim that DUMPING margin of Chinese exported products to industrial countries is more than that of developing countries is not accepted.
