Abstract

The study and the evaluation of EFFICIENCY in economic sectors especially industry, is one of the most important economical issues. Different methods are used to measure EFFICIENCY. One of them is Linear Programming which is divided into two parts, Determined Frontier Analysis (DFA), and DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS (DEA). In DEA, first a frontier is considered as production EFFICIENCY frontier, higher performance from the frontier is known as EFFICIENCY, and lower performance from frontier is known as inEFFICIENCY. This article evaluates relative performance of industry firms through DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS in Iran. Total technical EFFICIENCY, pure technical EFFICIENCY and scale EFFICIENCY are calculated for sub-sectors of industrial firms in 1380. Total Factor PRODUCTIVITY growth is calculated by "Malemquist PRODUCTIVITY Index" for firms during 1376-1380. The effective factors of PRODUCTIVITY are also analyzed by panel data method.
