Abstract

"Submissive mind", as a phenomenon, can be "wheeled-in" under certain circumstances. The present paper tried to detect and criticize the contents of one of the healing methods, popularly used to .seemingly cure psychological problems, and its underlying mechanism which is mostly suggestion to form submissive mind. The total words of two randomly selected audiotapes of the different heeling sessions, as subject material, were examined and categorized by two independent psychologists. The qualitative and descriptive findings revealed that the frequencies of the suggestive words, that are associated (conditioned) with pleasure and joy, were prominently high. The factors involved in suggestion and suggestibility will be discussed and compared with "exercise" which is the main factor involved in scientific therapeutic methods.
