Designing A model of School principals education

Abstract

 The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the dimensions, components and criteria of Education through a qualitative and quantitative approach. Participants in the qualitative section were professors and Educational management specialists (managers and vice-deputies with at least 10 years of work experience and university professors, having PhD as the minimum Educational degree) after theoretical saturation of 20 people who were selected by randomized purposeful sampling. The statistical population in the quantitative section consisted of 5404 people in schools of Lorestan province. The sample size was selected by random sampling based on the Cochran sampling formula 360. The research tool in the qualitative section was semi-structured interviews and in the quantitative section, a researcher-made questionnaire was designed from the results of the qualitative section. The validity and reliability of the qualitative section were investigated by interviewees and the validity of the questionnaire by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability of the instrument was 0. 79 estimated through Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Qualitative data analysis was performed using Strauss and Corbin method and quantitative analysis of data was analyzed by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis using SPSS and AMOS software. The results showed that among 17 identified categories, 5 were eliminated and the final model was evaluated and verified with 12 categories. The final 12 categories of the model were: 1. planning, 2. content design according to merit. 3. teaching learning strategies; 4. organizing learning strategies; 5. setting goals; 6. setting out evaluation criteria; 7. administering evaluations; 8. teaching skills; 9. attention to individual and community needs; 10. orientation to justice; 11. the use of teaching methods and 12. expertise.
