Abstract

Makzan al-Asrar, by Nezami of Ganja, is among the most valuable Persian mystic texts. Some of the lines of this poem have continued to remain abstruse and vague either because the idea they express or the poet's style of expression are difficult, or because the lines do not belong to the poet. The purpose of this paper is to interpret one such line which is in praise of the Prophet (peace be upon him). To do so, the Writer first criticizes the views expressed on this line and then expresses his own view.
