Abstract

 IN THIS RESEARCH, ZNO NANOWIRES WITH HIGH QUALITY WERE SYNTHESIZED BY USING THERMAL OXIDATION OF METALLIC ZN FILMS. METALLIC ZN FILMS WITH THE THICKNESS OF 250NM WERE DEPOSITED ON GLASS SUBSTRATE BY PVD TECHNIQUE IN VACUUM. THE DEPOSITED ZINC FILMS WERE ANNEALED IN AIR AT TEMPERATURE OF 600OC FOR 30MIN, 1 H AND 2 H IN THE TUBULAR FURNACE. SURFACE MORPHOLOGIES WERE CHARACTERIZED BY SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY AND RESULTS INDICATED THAT WITH INCREASING OXIDATION TIME, THE DIMENSION OF ZNO NANOWIRES INCREASES.EDX RESULTS REVEALED THAT ONLY ZN AND O ARE PRESENT IN THE SAMPLE, INDICATING A COMPOSITION OF PURE ZNO. XRD ANALYSES DEMONSTRATED THAT ZNO NANOWIRES HAVE A WURTZITE STRUCTURE WITH ORIENTATION OF (002).
