Abstract

DESIGNING THE MARINE STRUCTURES USED FOR OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION INVOLVES SOME TECHNICAL ISSUES WHICH SHOULD BE ANALYSED APPROPRIATELY. THESE STRUCTURES ARE DISPOSED TO CONSTANT AND VARIABLE FORCES WHICH ARE DUE TO WIND, CURRENT AND WAVES AND THE WAVE GAUGING AND AEROLOGY (ENVIRONMENT FACTORS) DATA WILL CERTAINLY BE CONSIDERED AS THE MAIN PARAMETERS IN DESIGNING MARINE STRUCTURES. SO, USING THE ABOVE MENTIONED DATA HELPS IN DECREASING THE ERRORS IN ESTIMATING THE WORST STRUCTURE WORK CONDITION AND PROVIDES OPTIMUM DESIGN CONSIDERING THE COSTS AND CONSTRUCTION TIME INTERVAL. THE PRESENT RESEARCH INVESTIGATES THE IMPORTANCE OF OCEANOGRAPHY ORB AND ITS USES. ALSO, THE WAVE GAUGING PARAMETERS AND THEIR USE IN ANALYZING THE MARINE STRUCTURES ARE EMPHASIZED. MOREOVER, THE ANALYSIS OF WAVE GAUGING DATA SENT BY IRAN-ASTARA OCEANOGRAPHY ORB IS DONE AND THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED BY SOME CURVES.
