Abstract

 KNOWLEDGE OF MIXING TIME IS OF FUNDAMENTAL IMPORTANCE FOR INVESTIGATION OF MIXING EFFICIENCY IN AGITATION SYSTEMS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS WORK IS THE OPTIMIZATION OF OPERATION CONDITANS TO REDUCE THE MIXING TIME. EXPERIMENTALLY, MIXING TIME CAN BE DETERMINED USING A CONDUCTIVITY METER. IN THIS STUDY THE PARAMETERS AFFECTING THE MIXING TIME IN A FIXED GEOMETRICAL CONDITION BY USING EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED. A SECONDORDER POLYNOMIAL EQUATION WAS DERIVED FOR MIXING TIME BY USING RUSPONCE SURFACE METHODOLOGY, AND INDICATING THAT 96% OF THE VARIABILITY IN THE RESPONSE COULD BE EXPLAINED BY THE MODEL.
