Abstract

 A NEW SERIES OF 5- (ISOMERIC PYRIDYL) - 1, 3, 4- OXADIAZOLE 3 (A-C) AND THIADIAZOLE 4 (A-C), DERIVATIVES WERE SYNTHESIZED IN EXCELLENT YIELD AND TO OBTAIN NEW COMPOUNDS WITH POTENTIAL SIGNIFICANT BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY. THE STARTING COMPOUND, THIOSEMICARBAZIDES 2 (A-C), WERE USED AS THE KEY INTERMEDIATES FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS. THE STRUCTURE OF THE TARGET COMPOUNDS WERE CONFIRMED BY IR, 1H-NMR, AND MS SPECTROSCOPY.THE NEW OXADIAZOLE AND THIADIAZOLE DERIVATIVES WERE PREPARED FOLLOWING THE REACTION SEQUENCES DEPICTED IN SCHEME 1. THE STARTING MATERIAL FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF THE TARGETED COMPOUNDS IS THIOSEMICARBAZIDE, WHICH WAS PREPARED BY THE REACTION 4-HALO PHENYL ISOTHIOCYANATE AND ISOMERIC PYRIDINE CARBOXYLIC ACID HYDRAZIDES 1 (A-C) IN ETHANOL MEDIA.THEREFORE 2- (4- HALOANILINE) - 5 - (ISOMERIC PYRIDYL) - 1, 3, 4- THIADIAZOLE AND 2- (4- HALOANILINE)-5- (ISOMERIC PYRIDYL) - 1, 3, 4-OXADIAZOLE WERE REACTED WITH CORRESPONDING REAGENTS PRODUCTS. FROM THE PRESENT STUDY, IT CAN PROMOT FUTURE RESEARCHER TO SYNTHESIZE A SERIES OF THESE COMPOUNDS CONTAINING WIDE VARIETIES OF SUBSTITUENT WITH THE AIM OF OBTAINING SOME NOVEL HETEROCYCLIC SYSTEMS WITH ENHANCED MEDICAL PROPERTIES.
