Abstract

 THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO MAKE A COMPARATIVE EXAMINATION OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN DIVORCE SEEKING AND NON-SEEKING COUPLES, THE METHOD USED IN THIS RESEARCH IS A VERIFICATION. THE STATISTICAL SOCIETY INCLUDES ALL DIVORCE SEEKING COUPLES (AGREEMENT) WHO REFERRED TO TEHRAN PROVINCE’S FAMILY COURT AND HAVE PENDING CASES AND ALSO ALL COUPLES WHO LIVE IN TEHRAN AND HAVE NOT ASKED FOR DIVORCE YET AND HAVE NOT GONE TO CLINICS TO RECEIVE MARITAL COUNSELING. A SAMPLE USING COCHRAN'S SAMPLE SIZE FORMULA WAS 156 PEOPLE WHO WERE SELECTED BY AVAILABLE SAMPLING. TOOLS FOR DATA COLLECTION, QUALITY OF LIFE QUESTIONNAIRE SF-36, JUSTIFIABILITY OF QUESTIONNAIRE USING FORMAL CREDIT AND STABILITY CALCULATED BY CRONBACH'S ALPHA THAT THE OBTAINED ALPHA VALUE FOR THE QUALITY OF LIFE QUESTIONNAIRE WAS 0.749. DATA ANALYSIS WAS DONE BY USING SPSS21 SOFTWARE. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DIMENSIONS OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN DIVORCE APPLICANT COUPLES AND NON- APPLICANT COUPLES AND ALL OF THESE DIFFERENCES WERE CONFIRMED AT THE LEVEL OF 99%. ALSO, BETWEEN QUALITY OF LIFE IN DIVORCE APPLICANT COUPLES AND NON-APPLICANT COUPLES THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES (T=4.09 SIG=0.000).
