Abstract

 2, 2-ARYLMETHYLENE BIS (3-HYDROXY-5, 5-DIMETHYL-2-CYCLOHEXENE-1-ONE) DERIVATIVES ARE IMPORTANT BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE COMPOUNDS, WHICH CAN BE EVALUATED AS TYROSINE INHIBITORS. THEY ARE ALSO IMPORTANT SYNTHETIC INTERMEDIATES AND CAN SERVE AS VERSATILE PRECURSORS IN THE SYNTHESIS OF XANTHINES THAT DISPLAY BIOLOGICAL AND THERAPEUTIC ROLE, SUCH AS ANTIOXIDANTS, LIPOXYGENASE INHIBITORS, ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIVIRAL ACTIVITIES. A QUICKLY GROWING RANGE OF APPLICATIONS OF THE NANOMATERIAL IN MANY FIELDS HAS BEEN OBSERVED IN RECENT YEARS. SILICA NANOPARTICLES ATTRACT A GREAT DEAL OF ATTENTION AS THEY ARE USED IN DIFFERENT REACTIONS EITHER AS REAGENT OR AS A CATALYST UNDER HETEROGENEOUS CONDITIONS. AN ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECT OF NANOPARTICLES AS A HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSTS ARE REUSABLE AND EASY TO SEPARATE FROM LIQUID PRODUCTS.HERE IN, WE WISH TO REPORT AN EFFICIENT AND SIMPLE SYNTHESIS OF THE 2, 2-ARYLMETHYLENE BIS (3-HYDROXY-5, 5-DIMETHYL-2-CYCLOHEXENE-1-ONE) IN THE PRESENCE OF CATALYTIC AMOUNT OF SIO2 NANOCRYSTALLINE POWDER THAT CATALYZE THE REACTION USING ALDEHYDE DERIVATIVES AND DIMEDONE.
