Abstract

 THE AZA-WITTIG REACTIONS OF IMINOPHOSPHORANES HAVE RECEIVED INCREASED ATTENTION IN VIEW OF THEIR UTILITY IN THE SYNTHESIS OF N -HETEROCYCLES [1]. RECENTLY THE SEQUENCE OF UGI AND PASSERINI REACTION, FOLLOWED BY POST-CONDENSATION STAUDINGER AND AZA-WITTIG REACTION, HAS BEEN UTILIZED IN SYNTHESIS OF A SERIES OF BIOLOGICALLY USEFUL HETEROCYCLES [2]. CONTINUING OUR INTEREST IN THE SYNTHESIS OF VARIOUS HETEROCYCLES VIA AZA-WITTIG REACTION [3], WE WISH TO REPORT HEREIN A ONE-POT SYNTHETIC APPROACH TO PHENYLACETAMIDES AND DIHYDROPYRAZINSBY A SEQUENTIAL UGI4CC-STAUDINGEREAZA-WITTIG REACTION.
