Abstract

 NANOTECHNOLOGY IS OF GROWING IMPORTANCE IN MANY BRANCHES OF RESEARCH BECAUSE OF THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MINIATURIZATION AND THE INTERESTING PROPERTIES ASSOCIATED WITH SMALL PARTICLE SIZE [1]. NANOPARTICLES HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL FOR USE AS A CATALYST FOR A VARIETY OF ORGANIC AND INORGANIC REACTIONS DUE TO THEIR HIGH SURFACE TO VOLUME RATIO.BOEHMITE IS USED AS CATALYST AND CATALYST SUPPORT, MAINLY DUE TO ITS GOOD THERMAL STABILITY, HIGH SPECIFIC SURFACE AREA, SURFACE ACIDITY AND THE INTERACTION WITH DEPOSITED TRANSITION METALS.4-SUBSTITUTED 1, 4-DIHYDROPYRIDINES (1, 4-DHPS) ARE WELL KNOWN AS CA2+ CHANNEL BLOCKERS, AND HAVE EMERGED AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASSES OF DRUGS FOR THE TREATMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES [2]. THE DHP HETEROCYCLIC RING IS A COMMON FEATURE OF VARIOUS BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS ANTITUMOR, GEROPROTECTIVE, HEPATOPROTECTIVE, AND ANTIDIABETIC AGENTS [3].IN THIS WORK WE BECAME INTERESTED OF DEVELOPING A ONE-POT SYNTHESIS OF POLYHYDROQUINOLINE DERIVATIVES THROUGH THE HANTZSCH A FOUR COMPONENT COUPLING REACTION OF ALDEHYDES, DIMIDONE, ETHYL ACETOACETATE, AND AMMONIUM ACETATE IN THE PRESENCE OF BOEHMITE NANOPARTICLES. BOEHMITE NANOPARTICLES WAS PREPARED FROM AL (O-SEC-BU) 3 BY REACTION WITH WATER VAPOR IN A HYDROTHERMAL CHAMBER.
