Abstract

 IN THIS PAPER, TEA WASTE HAS BEEN USED TO ELIMINATE CONGO RED (CR) FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION IN A FIXED BED COLUMN. THE EFFECT OF INLET CR CONCENTRATION HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED AND THE RELATED ADSORPTION BREAKTHROUGH CURVES HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED. THE DETAIL PARAMETERS HAVE BEEN STUDIED FOR THE BREAKTHROUGH CURVES. IT WAS FOUND THAT LOWER INITIAL CONCENTRATION IS IN FAVOUR OF THE ADSORPTION OF CR. FINALLY THE BEST CORRELATION WAS APPLIED IN ORDER TO CALCULATE THE MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WHICH WAS FOUND TO BE 0.0058074 M/MIN.
