Abstract

 HETEROCYLIC COMPOUNDS ARE CONSIDERED AS THE MOST PROMISING MOLECULES FOR THE DESIGN OF NEW DRUG. PYRAZOLES ARE AN IMPORTANT CLASS OF BIO-ACTIVE DRUG TARGESTS IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL IN DUSTRY, AS THEY ARE THE CORE STRUCTURE OF NUMEROUS BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE COMPOUNDS [1, 2]. PYRAZOLE DERIVATIVES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH WIDE SPECTRUM OF BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ANALGESIC, ANTI- PYRETIC AND PLANT GROWTH REGULATING [3].SYNTHESIS OF 4, 4' (ARYLMETHYLENE) BIS (1H-PYRAZOL-5-OLS) HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED BY TANDEM KNOEVENAGEL-MICHAEL REACTION OF TWO EQUIVALENTS OF 3-METHYL-1-PHENYL-2-PYRAZOLINE-5-ON WITH VARIOUS AROMATIC ALDEHYDES CATALYZED BY PERCHLORATE SULFURIC ACID (PCSA) IN ETHANOL UNDER REFLUXING CONDITIONS WITH 80-93%YELID. (SCHEME 1).
