THERMAL PROPERTIES OF SWCNT/POLYETHYLENE NANO-COMPOSITES BY MOLECULAR DYNAMICS SIMULATION

Abstract

 INTRODUCTION RECENTLY, NANOTUBES/POLYMER NANO-COMPOSITES HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED ATTENTION BECAUSE OF NOTICEABLE THERMAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES THAT THEY REPRESENT WITH REGARD TO CONVENTIONAL POLYMER COMPOSITIONS [1]. ALSO, AFTER THE DISCOVERY OF CARBON NANOTUBES (CNTS) [2], IT HAS FOUND THEIR SPECIFIC PROPERTIES SUCH AS THERMAL AND MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR AND REMARKABLE STRUCTURAL, THE CNTS ARE ATTENDED AS INVALUABLE REINFORCEMENTS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL STRUCTURAL AND MULTI-FUNCTIONAL COMPOSITES PROPERTIES [3-4]. IN THIS STUDY, USING MD AS A COMPUTATIONAL TOOL, WE CAN PRODUCE A NANO-COMPOSITE WITH SINGLE-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBE (SWCNT) EMBEDDED IN POLYETHYLENE MATRIX TO INVESTIGATE THE THERMAL PROPERTIES OF IT. IT HELPS US TO ACHIEVE A METHOD TO PREDICT NEW LOW-COST MATERIALS PRODUCTION. IN THIS CONTRIBUTION, WE DESCRIBE A MD PROCEDURE FOR SWCNT/POLYETHYLENE NANO-COMPOSITE GENERATIONS IN SECTION OF COMPUTATIONAL DETAILS AND IN THE LAST SECTION, WE PRESENT THE OBTAINED DATA AND EXHIBIT THE RESULTS AND DISCUSSION.
