A NEW KINETIC MODEL BASED ON THE INITIAL TIME LAG FOR SUCROSE HYDROLYSIS BY INVERTASE

Abstract

 THE KINETIC OF SUCROSE HYDROLYSIS IN THE PRESENCE OF INVERTASE HAS BEEN STUDIED IN ORDER TO FINDING A COMPREHENSIVE MODEL OF ITS PERFORMANCE THROUGHOUT THE REACTION. A COMPREHENSIVE MODEL WAS PRESENTED, WHERE IN ADDITION TO THAT CONSIDERED IN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED MODELS IT CONSIDERS THE INITIAL TIME LAG AS A NOVEL PROPOSED ISSUE. IN THIS REGARD, INITIAL TIME LAG IS THE TIME REQUIRED AT THE BEGINNING OF REACTION FOR ENZYME SITES ARE BEING AVAILABLE FOR SUCROSE MOLECULES. COMPARISON OF THE MODEL RESULTS WITH THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA SHOWED AN EXCELLENT AGREEMENT. THE ALLOWABLE [ABSOLUTE AVERAGE DEVIATION (AAD)] ERROR VALUE OF 0.1041 FOR MICHAELIS–MENTEN MODEL WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASED TO 0.0177 FOR THE NEW PRESENTED MODEL.
