SIMPLIFICATION OF BUBBLE GROWTH MODELING DURING FOAM FORMATION BY USING ROSNER- EPSTEIN METHOD

Abstract

 A THEORETICAL STUDY WAS CARRIED OUT TO ACHIEVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF BUBBLE GROWTH DURING THE FOAM FORMATION. THE GROWTH OF A SINGLE GAS BUBBLE IN A VISCOELASTIC MEDIUM WAS CONSIDERED BY INCLUDING THE EFFECTS OF DIFFUSION FROM THE LIQUID PHASE TO THE GAS PHASE AND INTERFACIAL TENSION BETWEEN THE LIQUID AND THE GAS PHASES. IN ORDER TO SOLVE THE EQUATIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE HAVE USED THE MOMENT (INTEGRAL) METHOD INTRODUCED BY ROSNER AND EPSTEIN. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT AT THE EARLY STAGE OF BUBBLE GROWTH THE PRESSURE DIFFERENCE WAS THE MAIN DRIVER FORCE FOR BUBBLE GROWTH, BUT AS THE PRESSURE DIFFERENCE DECREASED, THE GAS DIFFUSED FROM THE MELT INTO THE BUBBLE CONTINUOUSLY, AND IT BECAME THE MAIN FORCE OF BUBBLE GROWTH.
