Abstract

 POLYANILINE-MODIFIED CLAY IS INCORPORATED INTO MIXED MEMBRANE MATRIX (MMM) OF MATRIMID/MGO TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF CLAY ON THE PERMSELECTIVITY OF THE MEMBRANE IN SEPARATION OF CO2/CH4 AND O2/N2 PAIR GASES. THE MICROSTRUCTURE OF PANI/CLAY WAS INVESTIGATED BY X-RAY DIFFRACTION SHOWING THE INTERCALATION/EXFOLIATION MORPHOLOGY. THE FTIR AND XRD ANALYSES WERE USED TO CHARACTERIZE THE RESULTED NANOCOMPOSITE MEMBRANES. THE PERMEABILITY AND SELECTIVITY OF MEMBRANES WERE EXPERIMENTALLY INVESTIGATED AND COMPARED WITH THE PERFORMANCES OF OTHER MEMBRANES ON THE ROBSON CHART.
