CONDUCTIVE BIODEGRADABLE SCAFFOLDS FOR NEURAL TISSUE ENGINEERING

Abstract

 THE POROUS CONDUCTIVE SCAFFOLDS ARE PRODUCED BY INCORPORATING HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE PANI/GRAPHENE (PAG) NANOCOMPOSITE. THE EFFECT OF PAG CONTENT ON THE VARIOUS PROPERTIES OF THE SCAFFOLD IS INVESTIGATED. THE POROSITY AND SWELLING RATIO DECREASES PROPORTIONAL TO PAG INCREASING NONETHELESS, THE SCAFFOLD WITH LOW AMOUNT OF PAG (2.5 WT. %) SHOWS ABOUT 90% POROSITY AND ITS HIGH SWELLING RATIO (920±49) REVEALS THAT THIS SCAFFOLD HAS EXCELLENT HYDROPHILIC PERFORMANCE. FURTHERMORE, THE CONDUCTIVITY INCREASES BY ADDING PAG SO IT REACHES TO 0.002±0.00009 S.CM-1 AT LOW AMOUNT OF PAG.
