Abstract

 IN THIS LABORATORY STUDY PARAMETERS AFFECTING THE OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT (U) NANOFLUID STABILIZED ALUMINUM OXIDE WATER (WATER-AL2O3) IS DONE IN LAMINAR FLOW REGIME. FOR THE EXPERIMENTS, THE CAR WAS SIMULATED COOLING SYSTEM TO FLUID FLOW OF 0.2 M3/HR 0.5 BY A CENTRIFUGAL PUMP INCREASES TO CAUSE THE LAMINAR FLOW REGIME, (900<RENF<200). THE FLUID IS HEATED BY TWO 6000 WATT HEATED TO THE TEMPERATURE OF THE INLET FLUID TO THE HEAT EXCHANGER BY THE CONTROLLER PID VALUES OF 50, 65 AND 80OC CLOSE TO ITS OPERATING TEMPERATURE WHEN OPERATING A CAR RADIATOR. FLUID HEATED BY A FAN WITH VARIABLE SPEED AIR FLOW TO THE RADIATOR SENDS IN A CROSS SHAPE IS COOLED BY THE FAN CREATE 3 LEVELS 740, 870 AND M3/HR 1009 INLET AIR FLOW TO THE RADIATOR, AIR REYNOLDS NUMBER CHANGE , (700<REAIR <450). THE RESULTS SHOW THAT WITH INCREASING AIR SPEED AND NANOFLUID TPU OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT INCREASED, BUT THE INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE OF NANOFLUIDS INPUT, REDUCED OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT STEMS.
