 INTRODUCTION: IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT EXCESS ACCUMULATION OF REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES (ROS), TERMED OXIDATIVE STRESS, MAY LEAD TO NEURONAL CELL DEATH RESULTING IN NEURODEGENERATIVE DISORDERS INCLUDING ALZHEIMER S DISEASE. COLLECTIVELY, ROS CAN LEAD TO OXIDATION OF PROTEINS AND DNA, PEROXIDATION OF LIPIDS AND ULTIMATELY CELL DEATH.
