 TRISOMY 21 WITH THE INCIDENCE OF 1 IN 700 LIVE NEWBORNS IS THE MOST COMMON GENETIC CAUSE INTRODUCTION: OF MENTAL RETARDATION. HENCE, ONE OF THE MAJOR ISSUES IN GENETIC COUNSELING AND ESPECIALLY ANTENATAL GENETICS IS THE PREVENTION OF THE BIRTH OF DOWN SYNDROME CHILDREN AND ITS DIVERSE METHODS AND APPROACHES. IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT OTHER COMMON TRISOMIES, TRISOMY 18 AND TRISOMY 13, PLUS SEX CHROMOSOME ABNORMALITIES ARE SIGNIFICANT ISSUES WHICH REQUIRE PREVENTIVE MEASURES TOO….
