Abstract

 BACKGROUND AND AIM: TODAYS, NEXT GENERATION SEQUENCING (NGS), HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY EMPLOYED IN VARIOUS DISCIPLINES SUCH AS MICROBIOLOGY, BY WHICH THE COMPLETE OR A PART OF GENOME, TRANSCRIPTOME OR METAGENOME IN VERY COST- AND TIME-EFFECTIVE FASHION ARE SEQUENCED. SEVERAL PLATFORMS OF NGS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN MARKET, NAMELY ILLUMINA HISEQ, ROCHE454, ION PROTON AND ETC. IN THIS STUDY, THE BASICS AND SIGNIFICANCE OF NGS IN MICROBIOLOGY ARE DISCUSSED.METHODS: GIVEN THE AVAILABILITY OF SEVERAL NUMBERS OF NGS DEVICES ALL OVER THE WORLD, THEIR USAGE ARE FACILITATED, HOWEVER, THE ANALYSIS OF GENERATED RAW DATA AND OUTPUT INTERPRETATION ARE STILL CHALLENGING. ....
