Abstract

 objective: To investigate the self-efficacy status of Librarians in Ferdowsi university of Mashhad and Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and its relationship with their information literacy skills. Methodology: Eighty people was chosen by nonproportional stratified random sampling as the final sample from the population. Assessment tool was self-made questionnaire. The data has been analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics and SPSS software. Findings: The LibrariansSelf efficacy status was at a desirable level. There was a significant correlation between Librarians’ information literacy and their Self efficacy. There was a significant correlation between basic and advanced levels of information literacy and their Self efficacy. But there was no significant relationship between introductory level of information literacy and Self efficacy. There was no significant difference between the LibrariansSelf efficacy in different disciplines. There was no significant difference between The BA and MA LibrariansSelf efficacy. There was no significant difference between the LibrariansSelf efficacy in terms of work experience. Originality: Since the self-efficacy is an important factor in identifying the knowledge, skills and insights of the people of themselves, the examination of its relationship with information literacy skills can help Librarians in long-life and independent learning. Accordingly, the results of this research can be used by managers and library officials to codify correct policies and plans objectively and more favourably.
