SPIN POLARIZATION IN ALUMINIUM OXIDE WITH IMPURITY, MN

Abstract

 THE SPIN POLARIZATION EFFECT IN ALUMINUM OXIDE DOPED WITH MN HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED BY USING THEORETICAL METHOD. THE FULL POTENTIAL LINEARIZED AUGMENTED PLANE WAVE APPROACH WAS USED WITH THE GENERALIZED GRADIENT APPROXIMATION. OUR RESULTS SHOW THAT BAND GAP OF ALUMINUM OXIDE IS 6.2 EV. THE RESULTS OF OBTAINED SHOWS THAT EFFECT OF THIS IMPURITY DECREASES ENERGY GAP AND CAUSE TO POLARIZED THE SPIN OF ELECTRONS IN D LEVEL. ENERGY GAP IS DIFFERENT FOR SPIN UP AND DOWN STATES.
