ENERGY MANAGEMENT OF A MICROGRID USING A NOVEL WAVELET NEURAL NETWORK FOR WIND POWER FORECAST

Abstract

 IN THIS PAPER, A MULTI-OBJECTIVE ENERGY MANAGEMENT OF A MICRO-GRID CONSIDERING WAVELET NEURAL NETWORK IN ORDER TO FORECAST THE WIND POWER IS PROPOSED. THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER IS OPTIMIZATION OF THE OPERATION OF MICROGRID REGARDING BOTH ECONOMIC AND EMISSION CRITERIA. THE MICROGRID CONTAINS MICRO-TURBINE (MT), FUEL CELL (FC), PHOTO-VOLTAIC (PV), WIND TURBINE (WT) AND AN ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM (ESS).OPTIMAL SCHEDULING OF MICRO-GRID NEEDS A PROPER METHOD FOR PREDICTING OF THE WIND POWER. IN THIS PAPER WAVELET NEURAL NETWORK IS UTILIZED TO FORECAST ONE-HOUR AHEAD OF WIND POWER. A COMPREHENSIVE FORMULATION IS PROPOSED TO MODEL THE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEM. IN ORDER TO SOLVE THE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEM, PARETO ENVELOPE-BASED SEARCH ALGORITHM II (PESA-II) IS EMPLOYED. THE OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM PRODUCES SOME PARETO SOLUTIONS WHICH CONSIST OF DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF OBJECTIVES (COST AND EMISSION). IN ORDER TO MAKE A COMPROMISED DECISION BETWEEN THE SOLUTIONS, TOPSIS (TECHNIQUES FOR ORDER PREFERENCE BY SIMILARITY TO AN IDEAL SOLUTION) METHOD IS EMPLOYED. FINALLY THE PROPOSED ALGORITHM IS APPLIED TO A TYPICAL MICRO-GRID. THE RESULTS DEMONSTRATE EFFICIENCY OF THE PROPOSED APPROACH IN SATISFYING THE LOAD AND DEGRADING THE COST AND EMISSION IN ONE DAY OPERATION.
