QUALITY FACTOR ESTIMATION OF CIRCULAR MICRO-PILLAR MICROCAVITY USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK

Abstract

 THIS PAPER PROPOSES A MODEL FOR THE QUALITY FACTOR OF A MICROCAVITY; WE USE AN ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK FOR MODELING. THE SIMULATIONS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED USING MATLAB SOFTWARE. ONE CAN USE THIS TYPE OF MICROCAVITIES IN ORDER TO REPLACE A COMMONLY-USED LASER, BECAUSE A) THE RISK OF REVEALING INFORMATION APPLYING THIS MODEL IS BY FAR LESS THAN AN ORDINARY LASER. B) THE MICROCAVITY’S QUALITY FACTOR IS ONE OF THE MAJOR EFFECTS ON MICROCAVITY’S EFFICIENCY, AND THIS EFFICIENCY IS HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON EFFECTIVE VOLUME AND MICROCAVITY MICRO-PILLAR DIAMETER. THEREFORE, WE ARE INTERESTED IN OFFERING A NUMERICAL SIMULATION SO AS TO HELP DESIGNERS TO EASILY CHOOSE A SUITABLE MICROCAVITY WITH MORE EMISSION IN ORDER TO MAKE THE SINGLE-PHOTON SOURCES.
