Abstract

 HIGH SPATIAL RESOLUTION REMOTE SENSING IMAGE HAS BEEN NOTICED IN RECENT YEARS. SO THE NEED FOR MORE ACCURATE IMAGE PROCESSING METHODS HAS GROWN UP. AMONG THESE METHODS, IMAGE SEGMENTATION HAS A PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE. WATERSHED ALGORITHM IS ONE OF THE REGION-BASED SEGMENTATION METHODS WHICH IS USED IN MANY AREAS. BUT FACED WITH REMOTE SENSING DATA WITH UNCERTAINTY AND NOISE, IT CAUSE OVER SEGMENTATION. IN THIS WORK WE PROPOSED AN ALGORITHM FOR GENERATION OF INPUT IMAGE FOR WATERSHED TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM. THE ALGORITHM USES CELLULAR NEURAL WORK (CNN) TO OBTAIN INPUT IMAGE.5 CROPS OF GEOEYE IMAGE HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO TEST THE ALGORITHM AND THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE NUMBER OF PARTITIONS IS REDUCED CONSIDERABLY.
