Abstract

THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO COMPARE THE EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT AND ADAPTIVE SKILLS AMONG THE CHILDREN OF THE POOR, NORMAL, AND NORMAL CHILDREN OF SARI. THE METHOD OF THIS RESEARCH WAS CAUSAL-COMPARATIVE. THE STATISTICAL POPULATION OF THE STUDY CONSISTED OF ALL CHILDREN WITHOUT CHILDREN (15) AND NURSING MOTHERS (15 PERSONS) AGED 8 TO 18 YEARS OLD IN SARI AND ALL NORMAL CHILDREN IN 1395. FOR THIS PURPOSE, ALL UNPROTECTED AND UNPROTECTED CHILDREN OF SARI AND 15 NORMAL CHILDREN WERE SELECTED USING AVAILABLE SAMPLING METHOD. NORMAL CHILDREN WERE MATCHED TO AGE AND GENDER WITH CHILDREN IN TWO OTHER GROUPS. THE INSTRUMENTS FOR COLLECTING DATA WERE GRASS & JOHN EXERCISE EXPRESSION QUESTIONNAIRE AND BELL'S COMPLIANCE QUESTIONNAIRE. DATA ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED AFTER SCORING THE QUESTIONNAIRE AND EXTRACTING DATA USING DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS (INCLUDING MEAN, STANDARD DEVIATION...) AND INFERENTIAL STATISTICS (ONE FACTOR ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE AND TUKEY TEST). FINDINGS SHOWED THAT IN POOR CHILDREN, EXCITEMENT REGULATION IS LOWER THAN NORMAL AND NORMAL CHILDREN. IN NORMAL CHILDREN, GENERAL COMPATIBILITY AND COMPONENTS (HOME COMPATIBILITY, HEALTH ADJUSTMENT, EDUCATIONAL ADJUSTMENT, EMOTIONAL ADAPTABILITY) ARE MORE THAN NON-NURSING CHILDREN. ALSO, IN SOCIALLY INCAPACITATED CHILDREN, SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT IS LESS THAN THE OTHER TWO GROUPS.
