Abstract

Background and objective Cyberspace has found its place in social, economic and even political relations. but The misuse of Cyberspace has caused many concerns and problems for law enforcement-security, educational, cultural, economic systems. the main purpose of this study was to review the role and performance of the Police in Cyberspace with emphasis on the necessary training and regulation. Methodology The present study was applied in terms of purpose, exploratory in nature, Descriptive-analytical type, was performed in two rounds with Delphi method. The population of the study included experts of Police Cyberspace in Tehran. The sample of 10 people was theoretically saturated by the method of snowball. The research instrument included a interview and a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the interviews was confirmed by Goba and Lincoln criteria and the validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by face and content methods. The interview was analyzed using thematic analysis and the questionnaire was analyzed using the mean by Excel software. Findings the role and function of the Police in Cyberspace in the 2 dimensions of regulation and training-capacity building and the 12 components were as follows: predicting, preventing, confronting and investigating criminals, reconstruction Inter-agency coordination (networking), decentralized management, Police staff training, public education, culture building, psychological operations, defense of national religious identity and accountability, opportunity building and capacity building Conclusion The research results indicate that in order to optimally exercise the role of the Police in the field of Cyberspace, we need to get acquainted with new concepts and redefine them, review the Police performance, and change patterns, instructions, policies.
