Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of Women police in preventing violence against Women since they constitute a vast majority of our society. Due to psychological and biological characteristics, they are good targets for victimization. A great amount of the victimization is related to violence and different strategies could be applied to prevent it, including the adoption of preventive strategies in the context of situational prevention. The method of this research is descriptive-analytical. Using this method, we have investigated law books and dissertations, non-Persian sources, special police bill, and Women's security bill against violence by taking notes. The results illustrated that Women police providing some services can have a positive effect on preventing Domestic Violence. Therefore, Iran's police, like other countries', should use trained forces and special police for Women, as well as the use of coercive and non-coercive tools in order to detect violence and prevent such violence
