Abstract

Background Existence of managers with high Moral intelligence that do jobs right and observe ethical principles leads to strengthen intangible assets such as social capital. Therefore, this paper investigates the relationship between university administrators’ Moral intelligence and personnel job satisfaction with regard to mediating role of social capital. Method this is an applied descriptive-correlation research. Research population includes all administrators and staff of governmental universities in Qom. All administrators and 217 out of 485 staff were selected as the sample research. Structural equation modeling for correlation testing and Sobel test for investigation of mediating role of social capital were used. Results According to the results, Moral intelligence explains 57% of social capital variation and social capital explains 61% of staff job satisfaction. Conclusion The ethical intelligence of academic directors both directly and through the promotion of Organizational social capital in the academic environment affects the job satisfaction of employees. Therefore, planning to improve it in academic settings is a necessity.
