Abstract

This purpose of this research has been to do the DOCUMENTARY ANALYSIS of M. A. thesis references in the field of EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION in the libraries of ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY, Sari Branch. The method of research was library type and applying the descriptive-analytic method, the references of 119 theses were examined. The results of the research showed that the mean number of references for each thesis was 40, and the books formed the maximum number of references (69%). The most number of theses were prepared in the year of 2004 (21.8%), and the least number of them were prepared in 2001 (5.9%). Regarding the references, the language of the majority of them was Persian; the year of their publication was mentioned in Solar (Persian) Calendar and; the most prevalent year was 1378 (i.e., 1999), that is (8.2%). Regarding the publication year, based on the Christian era, the most prevalent year (5.7%) was 1988 (i.e., 1367). The title mostly referred to (78 times) as research reference was the book entitled “Research Methods in Behavioral Sciences”, and the author mostly referred to (117 times) was Ali Delavar.
