Abstract

Discourse Analysis is an Interdisciplinary field of study Which Emphasizes that Discourse has a two-way Relationship with Social Activities and Power Relations, thus they both Shape them and are also Shaped by these Relationships. This Approach in Literary texts, on the one Hand, Examines the Factors within the text and on the other Hand, Examines Non-Linguistic Information such as such as Textual Links to Political, Social, and cultural Factors. Butterfly Sunset is a work of Fiction that's Particularly Considerable in terms of gender representation since it focuses on the narrative of women's lives in Iraq's War-torn Space. Examining this Text with a Critical Discourse Approach, Shows how the Mechanisms of a Patriarchal Society had made it Possible to Turn not only Men, but also some Women into Promoters and Preachers of this culture, by Producing an Anti-woman Discourse and Using Repetition and Naturalization of Anti-feminist Propositions and Intellectual Foundations in Daily Life.
