Abstract

Background and objective: Developing the performance of entrepreneurs is one of the main goals and programs of many international organizations, countries. The performance of entrepreneurs is influenced by various factors. Some researchers have mentioned factors such as goal complexity, self-efficacy and self-control that have a significant impact on the performance of entrepreneurs. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and performance of entrepreneurs by considering the variables of goal complexity and self-control in Iranian entrepreneurs. Method: This research is applied based on the purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection. Its statistical population includes business owners of 122 companies located in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran. The statistical sample of the research is considered as a census method. Research data were collected using a standard questionnaire and data analysis was performed using PLAS captivity software and structural equation modeling using partial least squares method. Findings: The findings of data analysis showed that entrepreneurial self-efficacy is related to the complexity of the goal and the self-control feature has a moderating effect on this relationship. But goal complexity does not play a role in the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial performance. Results: A cognitive look at the psychological and personality characteristics of entrepreneurs such as self-efficacy, self-control and goal selection, shows that it has a significant impact on their decision-making and performance in business and if favorable and correct understanding of these factors will enable them to take advantage of opportunities. Use properly; Therefore, it leads to the development of the business and their performance.
