Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the condition of TECHNICAL ARCHIVES of dams and power plants of the MINISTRY OF ENERGY in KHUZESTAN PROVINCE and to determine the strong and weak points of these centers in order to develop INFORMATION NETWORKS among them. The research population consists of TECHNICAL ARCHIVES of the Department of Energy of KHUZESTAN PROVINCE (10 Archives). The findings of this research show that the studied TECHNICAL ARCHIVES are unsatisfactory in terms of facilities, equipment, manpower, budget and, in general, in terms of quality and quantity. These archives face many problems including insufficient manpower, especially skilled staff, lack of an approved annual budget from parent organization(s), lack of dedicated spaces for archives, software and hardware problems, lack of access to information technology and online INFORMATION NETWORKS.
