Abstract

Introduction: Investigating the mediating role of Self-Knowledge Processes in the relationship between repression (self-deception and other-deception) and the Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency in men and women seeking Divorce. This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of Self-Knowledge Processes in the relationship between repression (self-deception and other-deception) and the Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency in men and women seeking Divorce. Method: The statistical population of the present study included all people seeking Divorce who referred to the Welfare Organization of Bandar Abbas. The sample size was determined by the multistage random sampling method and based on the research assumptions of structural equations of 380 people. For data collection, the Cohesive Self-Knowledge Questionnaire (2008), Behshiari (2003), Self-Control (2004), the Short-Form Self-Compassion Scale (2011), Repression (1990) and the Divorce Desire Questionnaire (1996) were used Results: The results of the analysis of the main research hypotheses showed that there is a significant relationship between repression and the Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency Also, among the self-regulatory processes, only the relationship between Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency and compassion was confirmed, and the results showed that the relationship between repression and self-control, cohesive self-knowledge and compassion was also statistically confirmed. Finally, the fit index showed that in the whole sample, the model has an acceptable fit with the data. Overall, the findings showed that repression directly affects the Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency in individuals seeking Divorce, and indirect effects showed that the only repression affects the tendency for Divorce through compassion Conclusion: By examining self-cognitive processes as predictors of Divorce and the role of these factors, the self-efficacy of Divorce management in couples increased. Extended Abstract Introduction It should be noted that couples that apply Divorce, seek Divorce for a variety of interpersonal and intrapersonal reasons and problems related to relationship experiences, social and economic, underlying characteristics, and mental and emotional well-being (2). Self-deception and other-deception mean expressing bias in the characteristics of individuals or others and couples who are on the same path together to understand, interpret and evaluate their future, they communicate with each other through bias (51). Rather than effective management, it seems to be due to self-deception (31). There is no doubt that this issue has different causes, which have adverse effects on couples and those who are in a relationship with them. This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of Self-Knowledge Processes in the relationship between repression and the tendency for Divorce in men and women seeking a Divorce. Method Since the present study seeks to investigate the mediating role of Self-Knowledge Processes in the relationship between repression (self-deception and other-deception) with the desire for Divorce in men and women seeking Divorce and in it has tried to design a hypothetical model based on theoretical foundations and findings. The studies of previous researches examine, predict and analyze a set of relationships between the variables in the path diagram using the structural equation model. The statistical population of the present study includes all men and women applying for Divorce who referred to the Welfare Organization of Bandar Abbas in 1398. The sample size was determined based on the research assumptions of structural equations and the number of parameters was 380 people and multi-stage random sampling method was used to determine the members of the statistical sample. These questionnaires were used for the present study. Cohesive self-knowledge: This scale has been developed by Ghorbani et al. (20), by integrating two empirical and reflective aspects of self-knowledge in order to measure the self-knowledge based on the integration of the past with the present empirical mindfulness and its attachment to the desired future. This tool has 12 items and has a five-point Likert response scale. And the degree of its answers is from 1 (mostly true) to 5 (mostly false) mindfulness: The 15-question scale of mindful attention and awareness developed by Brown & Ryan (7) includes their transcendental experiences in a flexible, non-judgmental and receptive manner (6). Self-control: Contains 13 expressions designed to measure the tendency of self-control and has a response range of 5 degrees from "absolutely" to "very much". This scale has good reliability and validity Self-Compassion Scale-Short Form: The Self-Compassion Scale includes three main factors: kindness to oneself in the face of self-judgment, a sense of human commonality in the face of isolation, and awareness in the face of imitation. repression (Weinberger Compatibility Inventory Short Form): The short form of the Weinberger and Schwartz Compatibility Inventory (Weinberger, 1990) contains 37 items that are scored on a 5-point scale from 1 (incorrect) to 5 (correct). Divorce Tendency/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">Divorce Tendency Questionnaire: This scale was first developed by Roosevelt, Johnson, and Moro (1986). This questionnaire is a 14-item questionnaire used to assess a couple prone to Divorce. Each item is scored on a 7-point scale, with a high score indicating a high tendency to Divorce. Results In this section, the researcher first reports the descriptive indicators of research variables. The mean and standard deviation of the variable of tendency to Divorce was 9. 28 ±,19. 87. The mean and standard deviation of mindfulness were 16. 56 ±,60. 34. Also, the mean and standard deviation of the self-control variable was calculated to be 7. 66 ±,46. 09. The mean and standard deviation of the cohesive self-knowledge variable was 6. 61 ±,41. 13 and also the mean and standard deviation of the compassion variable was 6. 49 ±,37. 81. The mean and standard deviation of the repression variable was 5. 13 ±,37. 11. The tendency to Divorce has been reported with a skewness of 1. 04 and a kurtosis of 1. 13. The amount of skewness and kurtosis for the mindfulness variables were-0. 603 and 0. 033. The amount of skewness and kurtosis for the self-control variables are-0. 008 and 0. 844, respectively. The amount of skewness and kurtosis for the cohesive self-knowledge variables were 0. 371 and 0. 080, respectively. The amount of skewness and kurtosis for its compassion variable is 0. 277 and 0. 969. Also, the amount of skewness and kurtosis for the repression variables is-0. 139 and-0. 129, respectively. Based on the results of skewness and kurtosis test, the distribution of scores is normal when the values obtained are between +2 and-2. According to the obtained results, since the results of skewness and kurtosis of the above variables are between +2 and-2, they are therefore normal. Based on the results obtained in the criterion of the tendency to Divorce, only self-compassion with a rate of-0. 186 and repression with a rate of-0. 265 can significantly predict the tendency to Divorce directly, but mindfulness, self-control and cohesive self-knowledge can They do not have a meaningful prediction of the tendency to Divorce. The results also showed that repression can significantly predict self-control, cohesive self-knowledge and compassion at 0. 199, 0. 329 and 0. 176, respectively, but cannot predict mindfulness. According to these results, the hypothesis about the relationship between Divorce and repression is confirmed, the second hypothesis is confirmed only in relation to the desire to Divorce with self-compassion, and also in the third partial hypothesis is confirmed in relation to repression and self-control, cohesive self-knowledge and compassion. In order to investigate the indirect effects, since the indirect effect of the whole is presented only in Amos software and the indirect effects of each mediator are not presented separately, Preacher & Hayes method (2008) was used. Conclusion The results of the present study showed that repression (self-deception and other-deception) through cohesive self-knowledge, self-compassion, self-knowledge and self-control predict the tendency for Divorce in couples. Repression can also significantly predict self-control, cohesive self-knowledge and compassion in couples but cannot predict alertness. Explain that repression as an unhealthy defense mechanism causes people to use self-deception and other-deception strategies It is interesting why repression has not been able to predict mindfulness. Myers' research can be cited because they have a special skill in repressing negative emotions. First, repressors have less insight into their emotions (3). Primary mindfulness of repression is associated with a stage of self-control that includes cognitive orientation that prevents the mindful experience of anxiety. This stage involves limited access to information (11)). It is possible for repressors to retrieve their own negative and less specific memories so that they do not develop mindful anxiety (14).
