Abstract: 

In the contemporary era, color variation and poets awareness of this phenomena is due to their approach and deep intelligence about elements of the universe. The application of colors existed in ancient Arabic literature, but its direct reflection on the real life. In contemporary Arabic literature, colors are applied not only to beautify poems rather it is tool of symbolization.Factors such as policy-orientation, socialism and city affairs are counted as the main factors to express the symbolic bases by contemporary poets. A particular ideology and academic viewpoints of these poets along with their individual inauspicious incidents provide a background for the manifestation of some private symbols in poetry. Salah Abd al-Sabour is one of the contemporary Arabic poets who, in a widespread level, have applied symbolic colors. This essay intends to survey the colors in Sabour's poetry and their symbolic indications. The method is descriptive-analytical. The research illustrates that the poet has applied black, white, green, yellow, red, wheatish, gray and turquoise colors. The black color is the dominant one that manifests effects like citizens' not being naïve, their corruption, internal and external enemies and Zionist attacks.

Abstract: 

Due to different political, social and intrinsic reasons, contemporary poets have made use of symbols as artistic tools to express their own experiences. Among them, Shathel Taqa, as one of the pioneers of modern Iraqi poetry, has applied different historical, literary, and Islamic and religious symbols in his poems. With a descriptive and analytical method, the present article studies the characteristics of Job (AS) in two ballades by Taqa entitled "Job triumph" and "Job concerns". Job (AS) is famous for bearing hardships, showing patience in the face of adversity and being thankful to Almighty God and these characteristics of him have been used in contemporary poetry. The results show that Distressed social and political situation in Iraq and the Arabic world and the physical condition of the poet himself have had a dramatic effect on his spirit and have made him resort to Job’ s character to express the concerns and worries of himself and other people. Job’ s character is manifested in different ways in Taqa’ s poems, including Job as a symbol for patience, Tammuz, the oppressed Palestinians, the Palestinian, Job concerns and etc.

Abstract: 

Literature or symbolism school is a major school of contemporary literature. Changes in social systems, political, governmental, ideological transformations writers and communities, influence the reader, forcing the reader to meditate on the meaning concept have caused such writers and playwrights have been to this school, it was intentional writers, including playwrights to this school. Ali Uqlah Arsan contemporary dramatist Syrians affected by the school dramas including "al-Shaikh wa al-Tariq" (the old man and way) wrote. The drama, which represent the social problems and proposed solutions was the author, contains some symbols, such as "through" (way) that we have on this research seek to decode it. In this drama, Gasser seeks way out of poverty in society. Along the way, he will be faced with different people; each symbol is one of the author's intellectual approaches. Gasser at the end of the track to the conclusion that the only way to end poverty and social injustice victory of the revolution that be achieved in collaboration with of all segments society and unity, decoding the symbol in this study has been made relying on psychological and aesthetic style of literary criticism.

Abstract: 

چکیده فارسی:امروزه آشکار شده است که نوگرایی در شعر معاصر عربی فقط در تمرد شاعر بر قید و بندهای سنگین شعر کلاسیک نمود پیدا نمی کند بلکه این نوآوری اغلب در نوع دیدگاه شاعران و تمایل آنها در به کارگیری رمزها و اساطیر و نقابهایی جلوه می کند که به وسیله آنها و در خلال توحد با آنها شاعران رویای شعری خود را تجسم می بخشند و افکار و عواطف درونی خود را بیان می کنند.در بیشتر مواقع رمزهای عام و شایع توانایی بیان آنچه که شاعر معاصر با آن مواجه است را ندارند، در نتیجه شاعر ضروری می داند مه از این رمزهای آماده و شایع تجاوز کند و یا در آنها روح تازه ای بدمد تا به شاعر و مصائب عصر او نزدیکی و ثرابت بیشتری پیدا کند. بدین ترتیب شاعران معاصر امثال عبدالوهاب البیاتی و سیاب و آدونیس و... پیوسته به دنبال پیدا کردن رمزهای شخصی در تلاش هستند.بیاتی تعدادی رمز شخصی به کار می گیرد مانند عایشه، وضاح الیمن، خیام، معری و... هر چند برخی از این رمزها مرجع اسطوره ای و یا تاریخی دارند ولی بیاتی به آنها دلالت رمز شخصی می دهد و تلاش در بازسازی دوباره معانی نمادین این رمز را دارد و به دلالت های شایع آنها پناه نمی برد چه بسا از میان رمزهای شخصی شاعر در دیوانهای شعری رمز (عایشه) بیشتر به کار گرفته می شود. بیاتی توانست این رمز را به عنوان یکی از اصلی ترین رمزهای خود در بین دیگر نمادها و سمبلها قرار دهد و برای بیان موضوعات شعری و تجسم بخشیدن به رویای خود در مورد هستی و حیات به آن رجوع کند.   چکیده عربی:بات واضحا، الیوم أن حداثه القصیده العربیه فی الشعر المعاصر لا تکمن فی تمرد الشاعر علی القیود الشکلیه الصارمه، بل غالبا ما تتمثل فی نظره الشعراء و إنعطافهم نحو البحث عن رموز وأساطیر و أقنعه یجسد فیها، ومن خلالها، رؤاه و یتوحد معها للتعبیر عما فی داخله. فغالبا ما تعجز الرموز العامه و الشائعه عن الارتفاع إلی مستوی ما یواجهه الشاعر، فیری ضروره أن یتجاوز الرموز الجاهزه، أو أن یعید شحنها و یجعلها أکثر صله به و بمعاناه عصره. و هکذا ظل جهد الشاعر العربی المعاصر یکمن فی البحث عن الرموز الشخصیه کما لدی البیاتی و السیاب و أدونیس.لقد استخدم البیاتی عددا من الرموز الشخصیه منها: عائشه، و وضاح الیمن، والخیام، والمعری.إن بعض هذه الرموز و إن یکن منتزعا من حقل أسطوری أو تاریخی، إلا أن البیاتی یمنحها قوه رمزیه شخصیه و یسعی إلی إعاده صیاغتها من جدید و لا یلجأ دائما إلی دلالاتها الشائعه.و ربما کانت «عائشه» أکثر استخداما فی هذا المضمار من رموزه الأخری فی دواوینه الشعریه. و استطاع الشاعر أن یجعل من عائشه رمزا أساسیا بین رموزه الشخصیه یرجع الیها للتعبیر عن موضوعه الشعری و تجسید رؤاه إزاء الکون و الحیاه.

Abstract: 

Nouri Al-Jarrah is one of the contemporary Syrian poets who color has different functions in his poetries. The mentioned colors in his divan are to describe a thing or a phenomenon,or having metaphorical, ironic and sometimes allegorical meanings. The present article attempts to express and analyze the functions of green, white and black colors in his poetries with descriptive –,analytical method. The results of the research indicate that the colors in Al-Jarrah’, s poetry provide the basis for creating conflict, contradiction, ambiguity as well as sadness and grief,In other words, the poet plays with the audience’, s traditional expectations against colors. From the statistical point of view and the frequency of the presence of colors in the poet’, s poetry, neutral colors such as white and black have a wide presence in Al Jarrah’, s poetry and in many situations the presence of these two colors is felt along with other colors. The mentioned colors in addition to their symbolic function have negated or neutralized the meaning of other colors.

Abstract: 

One of the interpretive approaches in image studies is iconology, which describes the meaning and explanation of works. In religious arts such as in Christianity, there are many symbols and signs which refer to beliefs and traditions. One of the most important beliefs of Christianity is the incarnation of God. The purpose of this study is to study the semantics of a selected painting by Giotto, an Italian painter. In order to understand the symbolic concepts related to incarnation, the question arises as how the iconological method seeks out the signs of embodiment in a Giotto painting, and what are the effects of the artist's knowledge on painting. The method applies in the course of this research is analytical-historical, with the desired approach being iconology. Library and visual sources have taken into account in the accomplishment of this paper. In the end, it is suggested that the iconology method, while studying the face, deals with visual communication and why the work is formed based on the symbols of incarnation. Finally, for the first time in the history of art, despite the dominance of religion, Giotto used painting as an independent art based on facts and expressed incarnation with realistic concepts.

Abstract: 

Sakhrat al-Joulaan authored by the Syrian writer, Orsan, attempts to convince the audience to accept the idea of the unity of humans and their homelands. To this end, Orsan applies literary figures to deepen the concept of unity. The abundance of literary images is a vivid feature of this novel, which includes monologues, free associations and stream of consciousness. The present paper investigates the relationship between human and homeland in the context of literary images. It employs a descriptive-analytic method and identifies the elements of the image and interprets them. The results show that the interactions between human and homeland are frequent through similes, metaphor, myths and symbols. The smiles and metaphorical elements sometimes appear in isolation or in a merged format and both of them complement each other. This feature is considered to be the author's style of presentation of mixed images. The author adds to the depth of thoughts by resorting to symbolic images embedded in the context of different concepts. Sometimes, the “ cliff” in different interconnected context is symbolic or representative of homeland, objects and individuals. The word “ cliff” is therefore, a signifier having various signified concepts and is a representative for fundamental symbolic images

Abstract: 

Characters masque technique features a lofty technical value because the symbolic and dramatic dynamicity thereof in the contemporary literature has bestowed a lot of inspiring implications of the kind of inventive expressional loads to the words in the Arabic poems,these implications are capable of transcending beyond borders of the non-intermediated discourse that is close to tangible reality, so that a new situation which is interlaced with the poets’,values and traditions can be created. As a literary technique evolved from the call on the characters, this masque technique enjoys distinct methodical renderings in the poems of Solayman Al-Isa and, being inclined towards intermixing the present and past conditions, it compels the poets to express the pervasive challenges and problems in the depth of their experiences and incites them to fancifully react to the individual and social dramatic subjects in their periphery. Taking advantage of the purposive techniques forces the poets away from the mere narration of the past incidents and consecutive and transient calls on the characters in the margins, disguising the various characters with masques or getting close to beneath their masques. I helps to establish a sort of close interaction between the poets and the calledupon characters as well as between the poets’,contemporary conditions and the events of the societies before a given community. This study used a descriptive-analytical method to deal with the technical and implicative aspects of the archetypal characters’,masques in Solayman Al-Isa’, s works and gain access through a sort of processing to many of the archetypal characters’,masques that might be pertinent to religious, literary, historical and folklore matters. Poets have defined special functions and methods for all of such archetypal characters’,masques. Consequently, they have become simply and easily capable of removing the wall between the distant temporal intervals between poets and their applied characters.

Abstract: 

The readout of the mystical heritage has emerged clearly in literature, especially in a number of contemporary novels. This reveals spiritual developments among the story writers,those who seek to create knowledge based on abstract foundations. Some Arab novelists, specifically in the West, have employed the knowledge and mystical heritage in the resurrection of the modern Arab novel. The novel Jabal Qaf written Abd al-Elah ibn Arafa is a new novelistic experience that contains mystical dimensions from the title to its end, as the mystical vision has been mixed with the cognitive material on the one hand and linked to the symbolic and aesthetic connotations on the other hand. Taking a semiotic approach, this research sought mystical place as an epistemological concept in the thoughts Muhyi al-Din Ibn Arabi, through exploring the mystical spatial scenes in Jabal Qaf, which shows his ideas about the place and the mystical connotations manifested especially in the descriptive scenes of the market of Murcia city, the bookcase of the Sultan, and mosques such as Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as other situations like scenes conquest or in his talk about the East and the West. The study concluded that religious and mystical spaces and places dominated the Jabal Qaf novel, and gave it a spiritual character. The narrator has been able to imbue it with mystical connotations that he borrowed from the idea of the great philosopher Ibn Arabi. The study revealed that this refers to the religious background adopted by the narrator.
